... I heard about Lucuma when I watched Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. The show said Lucuma is blended into milk shakes and is a flavored preferred over any other. Andrew said it has caramel-like taste. Since fresh Lucuma is not available to me I decided to give the powder a try. The powder does have a slight "powdery" taste but it doesn't taste caramel-like to me. I did blend the powder in homemade frozen custard and it wasn't until I added some finely chopped pecans that it hit me, this is "maple nut". So if you are a fan of maple nut ice cream, then you will enjoy Lucuma in your plain ice cream. I am glad I have the opportunity to try things that are not indigenous to my country. ...
